New Guitar Hero Setlist

Guitar Hero still stands as one of the only videogames to which I’ve nearly given up my immortal soul. I’m not much of a gamer because I can’t stand the thought of spending the money on the systems, and the games. Add to that my near-constant anxiety of feeling like I’m wasting time, especially during the school year (while simultaneously spending hours watching TV and drinking for no reason – figure that one out).
Courtesy of avclub.com, via Pitchforkmedia.com, we mortals have received a gift from on high: the new Guitar Hero setlist.
Truth be told, I’m pretty excited about three, count ’em THREE, Tool songs, and the inclusion of Ted Nugent’s “Stranglehold” (made famous again by the party scene in Superbad).
Now, I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking “But Steve, it’s all well and good for the Guitar Hero folks to release another iteration of their life-altering hit game, turning even the worst indie pop stinker into a rabble-rousing shred gem with an uncanny, King Midas-esque prowess. But have the folks over at GH had the foresight this year, the infinite wisdom, to include the baddest of all pop-rock riffs, the undisputed king of 80s genre-melding and fist-pumping badassery?”
Yes. Yes they have.
Michael Jackson’s “Beat It” made the list.

Why is the song I am second most excited for a Pat Benatar song? (#1 is Interpol, obviously).
